Jeremy Miller Ready To Tackle World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Great Northern Tour’

GETTYSBURG, PA – Jeremy Miller is going to be a busy dirt Late Model driver for the rest of the month.

The 37-year-old star from Gettysburg, Pa., is going on the road with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series for nearly two weeks to run the ‘Great Northern Tour,’ a seven-race swing through the Northeast that will visit tracks in Pennsylvania, New York and Canada.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” Miller said of his racing excursion, which begins on Tuesday night (June 17) at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway. “I’m looking forward to racing with the World of Outlaws because it’s a great series. I’m looking forward to the whole adventure of the trip.

“And most of all, I’m looking forward to not having to work and just concentrating on racing for two weeks. I’ve never been able to do that.”

Indeed, Miller has had the WoO LMS ‘Great Northern Tour’ on his radar all season. Rather than use vacation time from his job at Miller Fabrication to spend a week racing in Florida in February, he decided to take time off and enter events at seven different tracks in his home region over a 12-day period. Two of his crewmen, his parents and his wife Julie also planned their schedules out well in advance in order to make the trip.

After Tuesday’s $7,000-to-win show at Port Royal, the tour heads north for the border to contest three $10,000-to-win races in Canada, on June 19 at Ohsweken (Ont.) Speedway, June 21 at Quebec’s Autodrome Drummond and June 22 at Cornwall (Ont.) Motor Speedway. The series then runs $7,000-to-win 40-lappers on June 24 at Canandaigua (N.Y.) Speedway and June 25 at Big Diamond Raceway in Minersville, Pa., before closing the swing with the second annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com on June 27-28 at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa.

“Our equipment is ready to go,” Miller said of his Buckler Motorsports team, which carries sponsorship from Complete Flooring, USA Spares, Inc., Rocket Chassis, Bullock Race Engines, Miller Fabrication Inc., Torco Race Fuels, Genesis Racing Shocks and American Racer Tires. “We did some testing (during an open practice at Pennsy’s Susquehanna Speedway) and I think we learned some things. I feel like we’re ready.”

Miller enters the ‘Great Northern Tour,’ which will include his first career dirt Late Model starts in Canada, working on a solid season. He owns one very big victory – his first-ever WoO LMS triumph on April 11 at Virginia Motor Speedway – and eight top-10 finishes in nine starts since May 1, including runner-up placings at Virginia Motor (May 1), Potomac Speedway in Budds Creek, Md. (May 9) and Hesston (Pa.) Speedway (June 1). He’s also experienced five rainouts over the past month, including the cancellation of last Saturday night’s Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) event at Virginia Motor after he had won the night’s first heat.
